The Chief Minister's “Healthy Childhood and Healthy Adolescence” Campaign - 6.0 will be held in Tripura from February 9 to 22, 2024,

"In 2023, Chief Minister of Tripura Dr Manik Saha officially launched healthy childhood and healthy adolescence campaign - 5.O at Sachin Dev burman Auditorium in Belonia of South Tripura district."

The Chief Minister's "Healthy Childhood and Healthy Adolescence" initiative aims to prioritize the well-being of children and adolescents in the state. By focusing on comprehensive healthcare services, education, and social support systems, this initiative seeks to ensure that young individuals receive the necessary resources and guidance for a healthy development journey. Through targeted interventions, such as promoting healthy lifestyles, providing access to quality healthcare, and addressing social determinants of health, the initiative aims to create a supportive environment conducive to the physical, mental, and emotional growth of children and adolescents. By investing in their health and well-being, the initiative strives to lay a strong foundation for a healthier and more prosperous future for the state's younger generations.

In India, there are 253 million adolescents aged 10-19 years, a crucial stage requiring access to nutrition, education, counseling, and guidance for their transition into healthy adulthood. This demographic faces various preventable health challenges, including early and unintended pregnancies, unsafe sexual practices leading to STIs/HIV/AIDS, malnutrition, anemia, overweight, substance abuse, mental health issues, and exposure to injuries and violence.

Recognizing the significance of shaping adolescents' health-seeking behavior, the Government of India acknowledges that their health status profoundly influences the nation's overall well-being, mortality rates, morbidity, and population growth. Therefore, investments in adolescent reproductive and sexual health are vital. Such investments will result in delaying the age of marriage, reducing teenage pregnancy rates, fulfilling unmet contraception needs, lowering maternal mortality, curbing STI incidences, and decreasing HIV prevalence. Additionally, prioritizing adolescent health will contribute to India's demographic dividends, as healthy adolescents are a crucial asset for the economy.
